#55. Sunset Park

Sunset Park was a delight in Northwest Wichita. Located in the neighborhood northwest of 13th and Tyler (1851 N. Keith), this park had something for everyone. Swings, monkey bars, shaded seating…

Features:

  • Playground Base: Sand
  • Swings
  • Slides
  • Tennis Courts
  • Baseball Diamonds
  • Soccer Field
  • Bathrooms: None
  • The website for this park listed water fountains but we might have just missed them.

Mom Tips: The shaded picnic tables in close proximity to the playground would make it a great place for a picnic.

Kid Tips: The playground had a bunch of different monkey bars, so Weston was in heaven. Sully loved running across the bridges and playing in the sand. Weston only wished they had a bathroom. Our visit was cut short due to a "pee-mergency."

  1. I put a puppy piddle pad in a gallon zip-lock freezer bag and keep it in the car for any “pee-mergencies” that arise. It works really well, closes tight, and I just throw it away when I get home.
