#81. Glenn Village Park

Glenn Village Park is an unusual, and super-cute park in southwest Wichita.  Its metal slide and concrete play areas will really take you back to your childhood!  From the concrete circles to the frame of the swings, it is just awesome!  And we haven't seen many metal slides left at the parks so far.

While we were visiting this park, we found a kindness rock.  It was perfect timing, because Sully had just fallen face-first into the sand and this made his day!  These kindness rocks are quite a trend sweeping the Wichita area by storm.  Here's an article about ICT Area Rocks from April: http://www.kansas.com/news/local/article155793219.html

So you paint a rock and hide it hoping it brightens the day of the person who finds it.  If you find a rock, you take a picture where you found it, post it to the Facebook group (ICT Area Rocks) and re-hide it.  Sully is so in love with his rock, he said he's going to paint another one to hide and keep this one.

Features:

  • Playground Base: Sand
  • Swings
  • Slide
  • Fence
  • Park Bench
  • Bathrooms: None

Mom Tips:  Finding the kindness rock totally made our day.  Maybe when we have some time after our park project is over we can start a new project with those!  As far as Glenn Park goes, check it out.  It's quaint and will remind you of parks-past.

Kid Tips: They thought the concrete circles were cool, and can't wait to paint some kindness rocks.
