We brought our old beloved Boston Terrier, Tyson to get his take on the park. We first went to the new Fetch Bistro, which is a dog-friendly cafe in east Wichita. This restaurant has a fenced in patio, so you can take your dogs off their leashes and run free. They have a section on their menu where you can order actual meals for your dogs, but we opted for the fresh house-made dog treats. It was a blast! There were some other folks with dogs there, and it was a great experience for all of us.
With full bellies, we headed over to the Murfin Dog Park. They have three fenced dog parks, two for large dogs only and one for small dogs only. Tyson took off and explored the small dog area to his little heart's content. He made some dog friends and a couple of human ones. When we got home, I don't think I've ever seen him so tired. He had so much fun, he tuckered right out!

There are three dog parks in Wichita: Chapin, Meridian (recently renamed after falled K-9 hero, Rooster) and Murfin. The Murfin Dog Park is located near the Kansas Human Society and the K-96 Fishing Lake. This park does not have its own website like the other two, but information can be found here: http://www.wichita.gov/ParkandRec/CityParks/Pages/DogParks.aspx
