#50. Brownthrush Park

Brownthrush Park was our 50th park!! It’s located at 543 N. Country Acres, which is back in a neighborhood near the southwest corner of Ridge and Central. According to the Wichita Parks and Rec site, the land used to belong to USD 259 and was made a park in 1976. It’s also next to Levy Special Education Center.

Features:

  • Playground Base: Sand
  • Swings: Yes
  • Slides: Yes
  • Bathrooms: No
  • Baseball Diamonds
  • Football Field
  • Park Benches

Mom Tips: There wasn’t a lot of shade and no picnic tables, that I could see anyway. It was a good layout though, for the baseball families at the park. While some family members were playing baseball, the younger set were busy on the playground.

Kid Tips: Weston loved the monkey bars, since they were wide enough to race on! Sully’s favorite was the rope climbing wall.
