#64. Osage Park

Osage Park is a great park at 2121 W. 31st Street South, near 31st Street and Meridian. The splash pad at Osage Park was a fun way to cool down on Friday afternoon.

Wichita Parks and Rec has splash parties and events at this park from time to time, in fact one is scheduled for next Saturday. For more information, check out the Wichita Parks and Rec events page: http://www.wichita.gov/ParkandRec/Pages/Events.aspx

Features:

  • Playground Base: Rubber
  • Interactive Fountain/Splash Pad
  • Community Center/Rec Center**
  • Bathrooms: Yes
  • Water Fountains
  • Picnic Tables
  • Park Benches

**According to the Southwest Neighborhood Association, “Osage is being leased by KETCH and Southwest Neighborhood Association. KETCH uses the building from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm M-F.”

Mom Tips: The playground was pretty close to the splash pad, so many kiddos (including mine) were running back and forth from one to the other. This made the equipment kinda slippery, so proceed with caution. The bathrooms are on the north side of the building.  Oh, and the interactive fountains are on a timer. If they shut off, hit this button near the frog sprayer:

Kid Tips: Weston had such a great time, he’s asked to go back already. While Sully didn’t want to leave in the first place! We’ll definitely be back!
