#63. Rivera Park

Rivera Park is a small park in southeast Wichita, located at 1301 Schweiter. It’s a standard neighborhood park, with a full surrounding fence.

We noticed this Adopt-A-Park sign at Rivera. I don’t believe we’ve seen any others at the other parks we’ve visited. I couldn’t find any information on the Adopt-A-Park program in Wichita, and am not sure it’s still in play. However, I was able to locate information on the Wichita Parks Foundation, where you can adopt a tree, and obtain other memorial park tributes: http://wichitaparksfoundation.org

Features:

  • Playground Base: Sand
  • Picnic Tables
  • Park Benches
  • Fence: Surrounding
  • Basketball Court (in rough condition)

Mom Tips: With the fence, it be a great park if you have runners. It also has lots of shaded seating areas and picnic tables. So bring a book, some snacks and let the kids run!

Kid Tips: The boys both had fun and liked the climbing tower the best.
