Sherwood Park was not on our list, since it wasn’t on the Wichita Parks and Rec site, but we drove by and couldn’t resist. The park is off of Meridian and 96 (3796 Womer Street), next to the Sedgwick County Law Enforcement Training Center.
The old metal play structure caught our attention and we couldn’t wait to try it out! I can remember playing on similar structures when I was a kid.
The park also has a cool fitness area that Weston enjoyed.
- Playground Base: Mulch/Wood Chips
- Park Benches
- Picnic Tables
- Swings
- Slides
- Fence: Along Meridian
- 10 Station Fitness Station
- Water Fountain: Did Not Work
- Restrooms: None
There was also an arm-wrestling apparatus that Andy demonstrated for us:
Mom Tips: We brought some friends along and they loved this park. Would be perfect for a nice picnic dinner! Lots of things for kids of all ages (Daddies included) to enjoy!
Kid Tips: Weston said he keeps getting tougher with all this ninja training. Sully loved the “metal hamburgers” and we couldn’t get him to come down!
I presume there are not restrooms since you didn’t mention them. That is an important thing for me to know.

Yep, no restroom unfortunately. A majority of the parks haven’t had them. I edited the post to include that. Thanks Lonny!

People in the neighborhood have used the restrooms at the LETC, also there is a Kwik Shop just across Meridian (Womer).

Thank you for sharing this blog with our local neighborhood. We love & appreciate our little park that was a joint effort between the neighborhood, the neighborhood association, nearby businesses, USD 259, and the City of Wichita after N. Pleasant Valley Elementary became Mitchner Elementary, and then the LETC until January 2018. We continue to hold celebrations in the park, the annual Citywide Night Out, and also our traditional 4th of July parade of bikes, wagons, strollers, scooters, etc.
