Finding this park was quite the adventure. The Wichita Parks and Rec site lists the address as 3520 W. 71st Street South. However, GPS couldn't use this address, but had us go to 3520 EAST 71st Street South. It's almost to Derby and Haysville, between I-135 and K-15 near 63rd Street South. The last leg of the journey is on a gravel road and seems like you're heading to a private property. And then the entrance to the park comes into view. There's no sign, but there is a concrete marker that has the words "Canoe Launch" stamped in the side.
Driving down through the entrance, we were surprised to see there were people at the park, since it is so remote. It was gorgeous at dusk! The parking lot and drive are paved, and so is the launch area. There's a short trail through the area that we did not explore as it was getting dark.

Mom Tips: This area is beautiful, but the very definition of secluded. When going to an area like this, please be aware of your surroundings and use caution.
Kid Tips: Weston and Sully want so badly to take a canoe or kayak out on the river. When they're older, this will be a perfect place to launch.
